All I can say about crafting Appetizer's with Miss
Bonnie's Cheese Spreads is, let your imagination go wild. Chef John, one of Kroger's wonderful Chefs, created
a Miss Bonnie's Stuffed Mushroom that has become a big hit with many of you on our Update List. I am including Chef
John's recipe for new visitors to my web site. This one is fast and easy to prepare. Wonderful anytime, but
especially sensational if your having friends or family over.

Miss Bonnie's Stuffed Mushrooms
......"Miss
Bonnie's" Stuffed Mushrooms. This one came from "Chef John" at the East Ridge Road Kroger.
Recipe: 1. Remove the stems from
the fresh mushrooms.
2. Bring
a pot of water to a boil.
3. Boil
the mushroom caps for about 4 to 5 minutes for medium and large caps.
4. Drain in collander and rinse with cold water to stop them from cooking.
5. Dry your mushroom caps on a paper towel
6. Soften (just melted) some Miss Bonnie's (we like the Jalapeño for this one) in a glass bowl
in the microwave. The Pimento is also yummy. What the heck..Do Both
7. Fill the caps with the the melted cheese (see attached photo)
8. Sprinkle each cap with seasoned bread crumbs (be liberal to make them crunchy on top)
9. Bake in oven or toaster oven at 350 degrees F for 20 to 25 minutes until brown on top
10. Enjoy !
This really is an easy recipe that only takes
about 10 minutes before baking once your water boils. If you like mushrooms, your gonna love them baked with Miss Bonnie's.
We also tried this....Brown some crumbled sausage or ground meat of choice (season
as you like) and fill the caps half way with the sausage, and top off with Miss Bonnie's. Takes a little longer,
but worth the extra time.

Using Pastry Cups

Shrimp Cups
An easy way to prepare fanciful, but easy Appetizers is using these
small pastry cups. I like to lightly rub the outside with a little olive oil and bake in the oven or toaster oven about
5 to 8 minutes. This lightly browns the pastry cups before filling. For this one I used medium cooked shrimp,
sun dried tomato pieces, and olive slices.
Recipe:
1. After lightly browning the pastry
cups, place a cooked medium or small shrimp (depending on the size of your pastry cup) tail up in the pastry cup
2. Fill the pastry cup with Miss Bonnie's Cheese (Pimento or Jalapeño)
3. Bake in
preheated oven or toaster oven for about 10 minutes at 325 degrees, or until cheese melts.
4. Remove from oven and place olives and sun dried tomato pieces in each cup around the shrimp.
5. Sprinkle
with Old Bay seafood seasoning.
You can also substitute smoked or baked oysters. Again, with Appetizers,
let your imagination go wild.

The Olive Bar in the Kroger deli offers a wonderful selection of "Add Ons"
for your Appetizers.
Using Baguettes

Baguettes offer so many Appetizer choices for anytime
or entertaining. In this photo I simply spread some Miss Bonnie's, both Pimento and Jalapeño, on sliced baguettes.
Put them in the toaster oven at 350 degrees until the cheese melts, and just starts to brown. Something I do when hosting
sample tastings at Kroger is top the cheese toasted baguettes with Private Selection Brand Cajun Roast Beef. Roll small pieces of
the roast beef, (warm in microwave first) and place on the toasted baguette. Kroger's Private
Selection deli is my first choice for deli. Of course you can top with veggies, olive bar goodies, or all
kinds of meats and deli. Isn't this fun? Miss Bonnie's pairs perfectly with a sturdy wine or hearty ale.
Someone recently told me Miss Bonnie's has become their favorite cheese to serve with wine.
Using Veggies
Veggie trays are always a favorite Appetizer.
Your veggie tray or plate can be as simple as cut celery, or perhaps a veggie mix of your favorites.
